Announcing Our Newest Partner: Annie Causey

By James Woods
Managing Partner

Woods Lonergan PLLC prides itself on our team of qualified professionals in New York law. We are pleased to announce our newest partner, Annie Causey, who has been with the firm for the last five years and continues to impress with her expertise, hard work and dedication.

Woods Lonergan PLLC is excited to announce that Annie Causey has been promoted to partner, effective January 1, 2022!

Ms. Causey joined our law firm in 2017 and most recently served as our senior associate directing our business litigation and corporate practice. As a business litigator and transactional attorney, Ms. Causey has helped numerous clients prosecute and defend complex business matters.

“It’s been an honor to play a fundamental part in growing this firm,” Ms. Causey said. “I look forward to continuing the rewarding work we do by protecting and enforcing the rights of clients in business torts, commercial litigation matters and private startup structuring.”

She is a valued and integral part of our team and continues to raise the bar with her consistent work ethic and determination. The New York Super Lawyers Rising Star awards have recognized her impressive career with awards for 2016-2017 and  2019-2021.

Before coming to Woods Lonergan PLLC, Ms. Causey served as general counsel to a national litigation firm headquartered in NYC, where she also chaired its complex commercial litigations and class actions. She graduated from New York Law School with significant academic honors and publications, contributed more than 600 pro bono hours representing clients before FINRA, interned with a criminal justice of the Supreme Court, and served the New York Center for Juvenile Justice as a public interest fellow and policy analyst.

Of her professional experiences, she says her internship with a criminal court judge regarding New York’s juvenile offender law was the most meaningful experience she learned from and helped her get to where she is today.

She is excited to take on more challenges as she begins her new role as a partner.

“The firm is genuine and down to earth in all respects, including how it approaches cases, clients, and employees,” Ms. Causey said. “And due to its real-world outlook, teamwork flourishes and many feats are achieved by respect for and dedication to serving the law and our clients.”

Woods Lonergan PLLC was established in 1993 by James Woods and has earned the reputation of being a leading firm in New York City, specifically in commercial, real estate and corporate law. Partner Lawrence R. Lonergan joined the firm in 2008.

The firm prides itself on our skilled team of specialized professionals. As a result, Woods Lonergan PLLC is equipped to provide clients with superior work product that surpasses the larger firms with whom it competes.

While providing large-scale experience and a highly skilled team that rivals larger firms, Woods Lonergan PLLC still maintains the reasonable rates and personalized service one could find working with a smaller firm. It is the best of both worlds to find the right fit for legal counsel.

“It’s been a true privilege to work alongside Mr. Woods,” Ms. Causey said. “I look forward to working collaboratively with the entire team to continue to serve the needs of our clients.”
